About me

Bruno Tarnowski

Hey there

This blog wasn’t really created with an audience in mind at first. Honestly, I started it for myself — a place to centralize my ideas, processes, and action plans in a public spot that I could reach from anywhere. I could’ve just dumped everything into GitHub (and yep, I still keep a lot of private stuff there), but after years of learning from the community, I figured it was time to give something back too.

I’m from Blumenau, Santa Catarina, Brazil. I’ve been working with databases since 2012 — mostly SQL Server and Oracle — though I’ve had my fair share of adventures with MySQL, Postgres, and a couple of others when life demanded it.

These days (and for quite a while now), my main focus is Oracle Database. It’s the most scalable database in the world and it never stops evolving. That means I’m always studying, experimenting, and trying to keep up. If you work with Oracle development, you know exactly what I mean — Oracle releases way more features than anyone can realistically master. So, my blog posts usually revolve around the things I manage to learn, test, and apply in real life.

A lot of people ask me why I write everything in English instead of Portuguese. The short answer: I work for an international company where English is the default, and it just makes sense. It lets me take advantage of the blog as a “ready-to-share” place for examples or explanations that I can point colleagues to directly.

Also, something I’m really proud of: I’m part of the board of GUOB (Oracle Users Group Brazil). Being active in a community that has helped me so much — and still pushes me to grow — is a huge honor.

And just in case you’re wondering about the name BHThoughts...

The BHT comes from my initials, and Thoughts is just a way of saying these are my ideas, notes, and random brain dumps around databases and tech.

I try to write in a clear, structured way so the content is practical, not just theory. If even one article here helps you solve a problem or sparks a new idea, then mission accomplished.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you find something useful here!
